Programming Language
This is a programming language. It may be used to instruct computers to accomplish a variety of tasks which may or may not be domain-specific.

Listed below are all of the tasks on Rosetta Code which have been solved using this programming language.

From the official Python web-site "Python is a dynamic object-oriented programming language that can be used for many kinds of software development."

Python is very readable and easy to create clean bug-free programs due to the motto: "Errors should never pass silently." Python source files (.py files) are typically compiled to an intermediate bytecode language (.pyc files) and executed by a Python Virtual Machine.

Note: because Python use whitespace for structure, do not format long code example with leading whitespace, but use <pre></pre> tags. This will make it easier to copy tested code into the wiki, and copying code out of the wiki. Example:

print 'this line must not have leading indentation!'
