:Why "in most of the western countries"? Are there countries where this is another Pascal? No. It's named after Blaise Pascal, period. That does not imply Pascal was the inventor, or that there are no other names. Likewise, the "triangolo di Tartaglia" is named after Niccolò Tartaglia, and no other Tartaglia (and not Pascal, obviously).
