Talk:Sanitize user input

Delete? Is this task meant to be serious or someone's idea of a mickey-take? The link to Bobby tables takes me to a wiki explaining comics. Clearly this rc contributor's input is not to be trusted--Nigel Galloway (talk) 13:50, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Not too fussed. I think it is mildly interesting that sometimes you have to sanitize your own source code in much the same way as user input, but otherwise I agree this is "not a task". Delete or "orphan" by removing the {{draft task}} tag would both be fine by me. --Pete Lomax (talk) 14:20, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
OK, I've gone ahead and removed "task", we'll see what portals to hell open up for me. As I said I'm fine with this being on rc, as a mildly interesting diversion/discussion, but it does not qualify as a task. --Pete Lomax (talk) 10:31, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
If Thundergnat is agreeable, might as well just delete it as there's not much point in leaving orphaned stuff around. --PureFox (talk) 13:32, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
It can still be found by typing sanitize into the search box.... --Pete Lomax (talk) 16:36, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
Well I suppose it can, though if no more solutions are added, it's not going to be very illuminating.
It's a pity that the author hasn't tied down the task a bit more - he has added some clarification but it didn't help much - and also provided an example, preferably in a language other than assembler. It's not easy to come up with ideas for new tasks and it's a shame when people are put off from trying their hand at this. --PureFox (talk) 18:53, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
