ActivityMore encyclopedia articles have been written for the language table. Also, a new column, "Parameter passing methods available," has been added to the table. Feel free to fill in any empty spaces in the table. On the code examples front, there were only a couple here and there.New Languages and CategoriesProgramming Paradigms has come about to organize some things from the language comparison table. If you make an encyclopedia article about one of the paradigms, make sure to put it in this category and not the encyclopedia. EC has been added with only a few basic tasks filled in. Hopefully there will be more to come. The "mini-language," Make, has also come about with only the 99 bottles task.Still NeededMore information in the language comparison table and more related encyclopedia articles. Dmitry can't do it by himself (though he can get close).

ActivityWith edits going on in the sandbox for a language comparison table (now on its own page), there is a new demand for more encyclopedia articles. Dmitry-kazakov has filled in some for us. It's good to have a guy with a PhD in CS helping you out. Spoon! added a fair amount of examples in various languages. Most other activity has been on the look of the site (still). If you want to help out, either post problems with the new skin on the skin page, or join the IRC channel and see if qrush or shortcircuit is working on it so you can help test things.Still NeededMore encyclopedia articles based on terms from the big language comparison table. RC can be just as much a source of information as a source of code examples. If you have an understanding of any of the terms in the table, write an article or try to explain it to another user so they can write an article.
ActivityThere has been a lot of discussion in the Village Pump about the new syntax highlighting plans. A few code examples have been contributed here and there, but no big blitzes. Work continues on the new skin as well, which is improving little by little.New Languages and a New Project IdeaR and haXe have come to RC, but their activity is minimal. R only has one example, and haXe has two trivial tasks done for it (Empty Program and Comments). We can't really tell anything about either of them based on that. RCRPG is a new project idea from Short Circuit. It showed up on his personal TODO list yesterday. It will be similar to RCBF and RCSNUSP, except that it will be a game instead of a language interpreter. Once the planned Perl and Python examples are up, the game can be translated to other languages.Still NeededExamples for new languages. Languages that have come to RC in the past few weeks (R, haXe, Clojure) still have very few code examples. We need at least enough so that it will be easy for a new person to figure out how to use the language.
ActivityThere hasn't been too much activity this week. A lot of it was with the new languages (see below). There was a lot of syntax highlighting work done for Ada in response to a new TODO item. That item has been removed after Short Circuit announcemed new plans for syntax highlighting. Also, a new interwiki link prefix was added for the esolangs wiki.New LanguagesSETL has been added to RC. It is apparently quite old (it was used for the first Ada compiler). Don't worry about it being too complex, though, it looks very similar to Pascal. Clojure was added late in the week by a new user, Wynand.winterbach. It is a Lisp-like language which compiles into bytecode that can be interpreted by a JVM (pause for a bit while your brain recovers). Neither of these languages has many examples yet.Still NeededThe TODO page still has some bot-like items on it. The most important ones are probably the last three: merging some tasks together, fixing "needs-review" examples, and tranferring examples from Loop Structures to Iteration. You could help out with these while you wait for the new skin to be finalized.
